The January Job Search & Refer Your Company

Sliding in at the very end of January to say hii - how are we doing? I’ve heard from nearly everyone that January has been pretty long and jam-packed. That being said, I hope that 2025 is looking to be a bright year for you all. ❤️
I’ll keep this short and sweet, but if you have any follow up questions - never hesitate to respond directly to this email. I see and respond to every note!
Refer Your Company & Get Free Coaching
I’ve been waiting to do this for quite awhile … and I’m so excited to finally roll it out.
As many of you know, I’ve started to support companies as an external coach for their teams. This has covered a few different areas:
New Manager Support
Annual Review Preparation
Internal Mobility Support
Career Pathing
Interview Prep
As I continue to explore companies that could use development support, I know many of you work at organizations that invest in employee growth (we love to see it).
If you think your company would be a good fit, you can now submit the best contact for your HR or People Team in this form. You’re also able to indicate if you’re comfortable with me including your name in my initial outreach.
If your contact books a corporate consult with me, you’ll get a 30 minute coaching session for free. ❤️ If you’d like to increase the chances of a call, you can provide multiple emails; however, I will be limiting the incentive to (1) 30 minute call per company consult call.
If you’re not sure who to include, here are some common titles that oversee employee development efforts:
Talent Development Manager
Enablement Manager
Learning & Development Manager
Head of Talent
Head of Employee Experience
Head of People Operations
Chief People Officer
Feel free to reach out with questions and thank you as always for the ongoing support!
The January Job Search Look Back
Anecdotally speaking, this has been a tougher January for job searching compared to recent years. January is usually a time where the job market “pops off”, because of budget approvals for the year and a post-holiday focus on tackling new goals. While those on the job search have been finding roles and securing interviews, it hasn’t been quite the “peak” that a lot of us expected. If you’re heavily on the hunt right now, I’m sure you can relate.
This unpredicted dip reminds me of how it felt right before, during, and following the election in early November 2024. The good news - once the election dust settled, there was more of a “rebound” throughout the remainder of November and even into December that was a pleasant surprise compared to seasonal trends.
All that to say - I’m remaining hopeful that February will be a similar “rebound” as we move further away from the devastating fires in LA and the hyper-focus on the inauguration. If you need some more positivity on the matter, I really enjoyed this article from Forbes - “Busting the 5 Biggest Job Market Myths In 2025 So Your Career Can Grow.”
